Day 206

Umm. Excuse me sir, but I believe you are jack-hammering your pants right off.

Day 205

The beginning of the end...of our old driveway. Work started today on the last phase of our remodel. Tons of concrete being removed. Looks like it's going to take awhile.

Day 204

Fannette Island, Emerald Bay, Lake Tahoe. Stopped on the way home to take a picture of Emerald Bay. Lake Tahoe is so blue and beautiful.

Day 203

Hey, there's a capital letter "A" in that tree! I was sitting out on Kim's deck recovering from the previous evening, when I looked out to the lake and saw this perfect "A" in the tree. Of course, I had to take a picture. However, because of my advanced state of dt's I needed a tripod in order to take the photo. I asked the others if they saw it. Some did, some didn't. Do you see it? Or was I just seeing things.

Day 202

My friend Kim. Had a "retreat" with some work friends at her family's cabin this weekend. I believe I am in need of a retreat to recover from this retreat.

Day 201

"Leave the gun, take the gladiola." Zac pointed this sign out to me one day and we had a laugh about it. It sounds like some Mafiosos have taken over the flower business. Floral and Syndicate in the same breath. Really?

Day 200

Day 200! I commemorate this day with yet another remodel picture. This is our new porch cover. We still need to have the porch foundation redone, but the roof turned out better than I expected. Now that old door just doesn't look right anymore. I feel another bank withdrawal coming.

Day 199

The Killers. Some days I really love my job. My day didn't start off well, but it ended well, because The Killers performed tonight. They are my favorite band. I watched most of the show from just inside the barricade. I used my point & shoot camera so unfortunately, most of the pictures were blurry, but I really liked this one of Brandon Flowers, the lead singer.

Day 198

I did it. I joined Facebook. Is there such a thing as Facebook Etiquette? Should I be upset when I request a friend and they don't respond? Am I rude if I don't want to "friend" someone I know, or don't know? Should my feelings be hurt if my kids don't want to be my friend? How much information is too much information? How does Farm Town work and is it really better than Farmville? The answers to these questions could make or break my Facebook experience...

Day 197

The art of painting eaves. Mike painting the eaves prior to our new roof installation. He even did a little night painting in order to get it finished by Monday.

Day 196

New camera accessory. I bought a remote switch for my camera today. I attached it to my camera and clicked randomly. The camera was sitting on the counter and Zac had just opened the fridge. Is that pitcher on the left empty?

Day 195

Get your mind "on" the gutter! The gutter guys installing new gutter for our new roof.

Thursday, September 17, 2009

Day 194

Topless. We are getting a new roof this week. Once the old roof was removed over the garage, you could see the sky.

Day 193

Run Tristan! Run!

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

Day 192

Improvement. It already looks like a porch.

Monday, September 14, 2009

Day 191

Skype. Skype ranks right up there with Tivo as an awesome invention. Hannah is 5,700 miles away in France, yet when we talk and see each other on Skype, it's like she is in the next room.

Day 190

Scribbles. My handwriting can be undecipherable at times, even to me. However, it's mine and I like it. I did blur the identifying information, so it isn't as bad as it appears.

Day 189

Face lift. We are attempting to remodel our porch. I have no idea what the outcome will be, but it has to be better than it was.

Day 188

Kevin, our friend and contractor, posing for a photo in his Darth Vader mask. He is busy tearing out the roof over our front porch. More project photos tomorrow.

Thursday, September 10, 2009

Day 187

Much better. Not the picture, the floor.

Wednesday, September 9, 2009

Day 186

Last carpet gone...The last room in our house with carpet is Hannah's (currently Tristan's) room. Zac is installing wood flooring today and tomorrow. Thanks Zac.

Day 185

We are watching you. Mike's truck got broken into, again, last night. This time his truck was parked in our side yard behind the fence. Technically it wasn't broken into, because Mike left it unlocked. Everything of value was stolen, his tools, his new GPS, even his clipboard! We've had enough. Mike and Zac bought a video surveillance system today. It was either this or a dog that actually barks at people. Sorry Ezzy.

Monday, September 7, 2009

Day 184

On the way home. Eli and Tristan with Bear River Reservoir in the background.

Day 183

Hiking to Granite Lake. Hana, Tristan, Eli and Mike attempting to push a boulder over the cliff.

Please note: No boulders were harmed in the taking of this photo.

Day 182

Do beagles like to kayak? Not really. Eli is holding Ezzy with such concentration, because Ezzy wants no part of this. Once they were off, she stayed in the kayak as it was preferable to the alternative.

Day 181

Company. The chipmunks and squirrels were my company for most of the day. I think that's a chipmunk.

Day 180

I had the first evening of camping to myself. I walked to the lake and practiced taking photos near sunset.

Wednesday, September 2, 2009

Day 179

Dry dock. Not really. We are just getting our kayaks ready to take camping over the Labor Day weekend.

Tuesday, September 1, 2009

Day 178

Roof samples.  How are you supposed to know if you will like 4000 square feet of that color based on a 1 1/2 by 3 inch sample?
