Day 330

Balloon Man in Old Sac. This one's packin' heat. I guess kids can be pretty demanding. "Back off you little buggers!"

Day 329

I had a feeling. Somehow I knew that I would see a beautiful sunset tonight. I almost missed it. I walked outside the arena, snapped a couple of pictures and within two minutes it was over.

Day 328

You've been warned. I didn't know that watching indoor soccer could be dangerous enough to merit a warning.

Day 327

A reminder. I wear this bracelet, because sometimes it's good to be reminded that life is indeed good.

Day 326

Goooaaalll!!!

Day 325

It's official. They already had the wedding booked. They have been working on the invitation list. He asked her parents weeks ago. They picked out the ring. She's been waiting, rather impatiently for "the ring" and "the question". She finally got both. Congratulations, Tara and Anthony.

Day 324

See. They do make mistakes. I received an invitation to join the AARP just prior to my 50th birthday in November (See Day 241). Imagine my surprise when Brandi, my 28 year old daughter, received the same invitation in the mail.

Day 323

Gourmet. Eli made the cornbread all by himself. He loves cornbread. Now he knows how to make it. And yes, he had the first piece.

Saturday, January 23, 2010

Day 322

Batman flies. It's really unfair and I feel like I'm cheating a little when I take photos of events from where I work. I like to think I use them as a last resort, but honestly it's a first resort.

Day 321

Where am I going this summer? Here's a hint.

Day 320

Guess who is rolling into town for the weekend. Pun intended.

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

Day 319

Storm damage. A major storm blew through today. More expected tomorrow and the next day and the next day. Fences. We don't need no stinkin fences.

Tuesday, January 19, 2010

Day 318

Happy Birthday Tristan! Today is Tristan's 18th birthday. Pam, Ken and Hana invited us over to celebrate with burgers, cake and cards. Yes, that's Tristan's face on his cake. Everyone deserves a cake with their face on it once in their lifetime.

Day 317

Siblings. There are 16 years between them, but they still have so much fun together. Brandi (and Donny) invite Eli over every once in awhile for a play date. Today was one of those days. Eli looks forward to it. They play video games, watch movies and eat junk food. How cool is that?

Sunday, January 17, 2010

Day 316

That's where they are! I spent ten minutes looking all over the house for my reading glasses. Is this evidence of something?

Day 315

8 seconds must seem like an eternity, when you are riding a bull.

Photo taken from the catwalk 85 feet above the arena. Those bulls are fast. I took tons of shots and didn't get one that was in focus.

Friday, January 15, 2010

Day 314

Bullpen. Literally. Professional bull riders in the house for a couple of nights. I was able to climb up over the chutes and snap a couple of close-ups. Just don't make eye contact. Uh, too late.

Thursday, January 14, 2010

Day 313

The truth is stranger than fiction. I was interviewed today to possibly participate in a reality television show set in the arena. I'm pretty sure I won't be chosen, but it was an interesting experience anyway. Of course, I asked to take a photo. I could tell it wasn't the best photo when I took it, but I didn't want to be one of "those" people.

Day 312

Sometimes you do get what you wish for. See yesterday's post.

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

Day 311

Searching for blue sky. It's been so overcast and gloomy the last couple of weeks. I need some blue sky and sun. This morning it threatened to break through, but alas, it was just a bright spot among the clouds. Maybe tomorrow...

Monday, January 11, 2010

Day 310

Look closely. The color isn't important. The brand isn't important. Where they are made of isn't important. The fact that you have to dry clean them isn't even important. What's important is that they are a size 8 and they are loose on me. I am oh so close to reaching my goal weight. You can bet I will post a picture of the scale when I do.

Sunday, January 10, 2010

Day 309

Luna lives here. Luna chews stuff up. Now Ezzy has joined in the fun. There is junk strewn across the backyard. Ezzy never pulled this until Luna came along. Ezzy has succumbed to dog peer pressure. Bad dogs!

Saturday, January 9, 2010

Day 308

Crossworders. (Is that a word?) Zac and Colleen like to work on crossword puzzles together. #4 across - A four letter word for the patriarch of Genesis. Zac said, "Phil". The answer is "Adam". (Think about it.)

Friday, January 8, 2010

Day 307

Post game face. Eli played indoor soccer today. After a 0-4 start to the game, his team rallied back, but ultimately lost 6-8. He received a bit of a fat lip in the process. I really like this picture though.

Thursday, January 7, 2010

Day 306

Scratching my head. I did a double-take at this billboard the other day. I saw it again today and still don't get it. Is snoring really deadly? Or are they saying that you had better call them before your spouse kills you because of your snoring? Look at her. She's picturing herself snuffing out her snoring husband. If someone does kill their snoring husband after seeing this billboard, can they claim the billboard gave them the idea?

Day 305

Mindy & Jessica. Mindy & Jessica. Mindy & Jessica. Two wonderful co-workers. They are together 99.9% of the time. When I first met them, I wasn't sure which was Jessica and which was Mindy. Sadly, Jessica is leaving MSE to work for the DMV. We'll have to keep Jessica's spirits up with lots of lemon drops (the drink, not the candy).

FYI-Jessica is on the right. No left. No right. Just kidding. She's on the left.

Day 304

Post It. One day, Tara, my colleague, and I were on a conference call to one of our employees. The employee was weaving quite the tall tale about why she missed work. I was getting annoyed and wrote this note to share with Tara during the phone conversation. I've kept it near my phone ever since, and refer to it quite often when I'm listening to people on the phone.

On another note, Hannah shared with me, if you translate "Liar, Liar pants on fire" into French and then back into English, it comes out, "Teller of untruths, your trousers have combusted."

Monday, January 4, 2010

Day 303

Christmas in January. Our Christmas gifts from France arrived today. Hannah is so thoughtful. She gave Mike and Eli "Barricade", a game which they both really enjoy. It's a good thing they already know how to play it, because the instructions are in French.

Sunday, January 3, 2010

Day 302

Worst sign waver ever. The guy is asleep. This is my third picture of a sign waver. I guess I spend a lot of time at stop lights and I'm running out of photo ideas.

Saturday, January 2, 2010

Day 301

Like mother, like daughter. My co-worker, Antoinette, hosted a family reunion of sorts at the game tonight. She sold 60+ tickets. Here she is with her mom.

Friday, January 1, 2010

Day 300

Happy New Year! No better photo subject for Day 300 and January 1, 2010, than my sweet boy, Eli. He's making Chex Muddy Buddies. The first batch disappeared last night. I'm sure this batch will not last very long either.
