Day 358

Capturing the moon. It's harder than I thought. It was a full moon tonight and there was a little haze. I tried a bunch of different settings on my camera. This was the best I could do.

Day 357

Pain at the pump. This is what it cost to fill my tank today. Gas prices are creeping up again.

Freeway art. That's what I'm calling it. The last couple of nights on my way home, I took my camera out and set it on the steering wheel (I know. Not especially safe) and clicked away at the cars on the freeway. Some of the pictures came out really interesting. Kind of like neon writing. I didn't take any other pictures today, so I decided to use this one.

Day 355

Pizza. We joined the French's and Tristan for dinner at Chicago Fire Pizza tonight. The pizza was excellent. Everyone especially liked the cookie pizza for dessert. If I had known it was that good, I would have just ordered the dessert first.

Another goodbye. Traci, far right, has taken a position with the Sacramento River Cats. She truly is one the nicest people and fun too. We'll miss her, but we plan on invading Raley Field every so often to visit her.

Lucky last minute shot. Today was one of those days when I waited until the end of the day to take a photo. It was 10 p.m. as I was leaving work. I got into my car and noticed the tree near the entrance was really swaying in the wind. The light behind it made it look really eery. Add a little rain and I came up with this shot. I like it anyway.

Workshop set-up. This is what it looks like right before the ladies arrive for my workshop. I pre-cut most of the paper. All of the "stamples" are in the center of the table. $10 is a bargain for 5 cards and a an evening with friends.

Workshop preview. I haven't taught a workshop in a couple of months. We're going to make birthday cards.

Gravity Slashers Day 2. This trick is called "Lazy Boy" because the rider is leaning back and taking a drink as if he were in a recliner. Didn't take as many pictures tonight. It's too hard. I was getting discouraged.

Gravity Slashers. Tried to take some pictures of the motorcycle stunt riders. I like this one, not for the quality of the photo, but because I was able to catch him with no hands on the bike.

Office Makeover Part 2. This is really cool. Along with the logo, they added a couple of basketballs. These are right outside my office.

Office makeover Part 1. The entrance to our offices got a mini makeover this last week. The designs and logo were etched into the concrete and then painted. It's amazing how they transformed boring concrete into a faux basketball court.

Disney. Not much to photograph, but they did have a "Princess Pre-show". It was an exhibit of the dresses of various Disney Characters. I thought Belle's dress from Beauty and the Beast was the prettiest. Not many ladies can pull off with wearing yellow the way Belle does.

That look. What a great expression on my brother, Mike's face. He and I took a walk down by the American River this morning. Not a bad way to spend an hour.

No significance whatsoever. I was halfway up the escalator at the mall and decided to see if I could pull out my camera, turn it on and take a picture before I reached the top. I did. That's it.

Walking the dog. That's what the Utility Crew calls it when they drag the water hose over the concrete to create ice for ice shows. It takes about 48 hours to make 2" of ice. By the way, they have to paint the ice to make it white.

The "Board". I belong to our swim team parent board. During the off-season, we meet once a month to plan for the next season. I've noticed meeting attendance is up when food and wine are served. Hmmm.

Super Bowl Sunday. It's really about the food and the commercials. I made 7 layer bars for a Super Bowl Party. They taste as good as they look. To top it all off, I won $40 in a pool.

Day 336

Macy's. I buy most of my clothes at Macy's. I never buy anything full price. The key to successfully shopping at Macy's is to buy when an item is on sale and there is an additional discount and use the coupons they send in the mail. I always ask, "Will my coupon work on this?"

Day 335

Help us help you. We received a friendly note on our trash can today from the trash collectors. THEY want us to get a new trash can, because our is falling apart. THEY said, "We picked your trash up today, but we won't pick it up again unless you get a new trash can." The thing is, we have to call THEM to get a new one. Doesn't the trash collector talk to anyone at the office? Can't he just write a note that so-and-so at such-and-such address needs a new garbage can and give it to the guy back at the dump or office or wherever they park their trucks? Do we really have to get involved? We've been asked to do this before. I attempted to call the number THEY gave us and was stuck on hold forever. I gave up. That was probably 9 months ago. THEY have picked up our trash all these months. I guess I'll try again, after all THEY only want to help.

Day 334

Lost. I can't believe I forgot about the premier of The Final Season of Lost on Tuesday. I watched it this evening online (which is better anyway). It was like visiting with old friends. More questions, no real answers. Ah, Lost is back.

*Nabbed. I caught Marius working on my puzzle. I don't have a problem with Marius working on my puzzle, I just wish he would work on the hard parts too.

*Another shameless exploitation of pets for Project 365. That's two days in a row. I'm running out of pets to exploit.

Day 332

Here I go resorting to pet photos again. Ezzy likes to play tug-o-war with anyone who will oblige her. Of course, Eli is a willing and able opponent.

Day 331

Fungi. I was checking the front lawn to see if it was dry enough to mow (We are in between storms) and found these very weird mushrooms. They have a metallic gold color in the sunshine. I'm guessing they are poisonous. They have that look that says, "Eat me and die". They are beautiful in their own way though.
